in Notizie

Among the exhibitors of Ipm Essen 2020 (January 28-31) there are 14 nursery companies of the Italian nursery association "Associazione Vivaisti Italiani" (AVI): 13 from Pistoia’s ornamental nursery district (Tuscany) and 1 from Novara (Piedmont). In addition to these, 2 non-nursery companies from the Pistoia green supply chain which are sponsors of Avi. The president of Avi Luca Magazzini: «in this edition interesting focus on plants and climate change and on the sector in France». The president of the ornamental nursery district of Pistoia Francesco Mati: «such a valid representation of the district at such an important fair is positive for our exports».

Fourteen nurseries that are members of Associazione Vivaisti Italiani (AVI), an important Italian nursery association with headquarters in Pistoia, will participate next week as exhibitors at the leading horticulture fair Ipm Essen.
As many as 13 of them belong to the ornamental nursery district of Pistoia (Distretto vivaistico ornamentale di Pistoia), which is run by AVI. The only non-Pistoia member nursery company that will participate in Ipm Essen - scheduled from January 28 to 31 – comes from the province of Novara (Piedmont Region), on Lago Maggiore. In addition to the nursery companies, 2 companies from Pistoia which belong to the green supply chain and are sponsors of AVI will be present as exhibitors in Essen.

«Among the most interesting aspects of this edition of Ipm Essen - declares AVI’s president Luca Magazzini – there are various initiatives dedicated to “plants and climate”, to the role of nurseries against climate change, the same topic that we focused on last September here in Pistoia at our meeting “Serata del vivaismo” (Nursery Evening). Another interesting aspect is the focus on France, which has among the most noteworthy elements the presence of Val'hor, a national inter-professional association that gathers all the players in the supply chain from producers and traders to the final segments: florists, gardeners and landscape architects».

«I am proud to have such a valuable representation of our district at Ipm Essen, one of the most important world events on nursery gardening - adds the president of the ornamental nursery district of Pistoia Francesco Mati -. It is perfectly in line with the latest positive data on our exports: we are a district of absolute importance and are able to operate effectively in international markets». Exports of Pistoia’s nursery companies grew by about 10 percent in the first half of 2019 compared to the corresponding period of 2018, reaching a value of 182 million euros.
